DAXcam, LLC is he parent company of the DAX™ Evidence Recorder - the patented, sole-source, 'Built in America' hand-held camera that captures the physical evidence of the eye signs used in DRE/SFST/ARIDE protocols.  DAX™ is used for training (wet-and green labs) as well as roadside applications. DAX™ evidence is court-allowed* providing law enforcement officers with video evidence to support their observations and opinions.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the International Association of Chiefs of Police, eye examinations are a key component of roadside impairment detection protocols. The DAX™ Evidence Recorder allows officers to conduct the test in accordance with those manuals while simultaneously capturing video and audio of the subject’s responses.

DAX has been upgraded to be lighter, more durable and have WIFI capability for cloud-storage and streaming of the audio/video evidence.

Ron Waldorf, DAXcam's Chief Technology Officer is a vestibular physiologist with a background in medical research, originally developed infrared computer image processing technology to track involuntary eye movements in patients experiencing vertigo, dizziness and other balance-related conditions. He recognized a similar need in law enforcement. Working with Sgt. Dick Studdard LAPD, ret.) who is a DRE Emeritus credited with originating the DRE program, DAX™ was created and is proving to enhance the highways safety programs for police agencies in the US, Canada and the United Kingdom.
