Arterial streets account for a disproportionate share of pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities each year. High speeds, high traffic volumes, and lack of infrastructure for active transportation create elevated risks for people traveling outside of motor vehicles. Examine how statewide vulnerable road user assessments, safety action plans, and targeted infrastructure investments can be used to reimagine these high-risk streets and support safe mobility for all users.
