The Maryland Highway Safety Office, a division of the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration, is committed to saving lives and preventing injuries by reducing motor vehicle crashes. Through a comprehensive network of traffic safety programs, the office and its partners are committed to enhancing roadway safety and promoting responsible driving across the state.

MDOT's Office of Active Transportation and Micromobility (OATM) focuses on innovative planning, policy, and programming to support people walking, biking, and rolling across Maryland. Housed within the MDOT Secretary's Office, OATM's work is guided by MDOT's 2050 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan and supports the implementation of MDOT's Complete Streets Policy across the modes.
